How to Resize and Create Partitions with Partition Magic 8
This
article tells you how to resize a partition, using the Partition Magic
software. This creates another partition, which can be useful for
backups.
- 1Open Partition Magic.
- 2Right-click on the drive you wish to partition.
- 3Select Resize / Move on the drop-down menu.
- 4Press the up/down arrow to increase/decrease the free space.... You can also Drag the slider until the required size is reached, "Fine Tuning" with the up/down arrows if you require an exact size.
- 5Go to General > Apply Changes.
- 6Restart, if need be. (On restarting, Windows XP may immediately display a "New Hardware Found", "Generic Volume" message and require yet another restart.
- 7Reopen Partition Magic.
- 8Right-click on the unallocated space that you tagged off of the partition.
- 9Go to Create Partition on the drop-down menu.
- 10Apply changes when you are finished.
